Interactive projection mapping and visitor's journey.
Role /Concept, UX Design
We were tasked with positioning giant Chinese mall 528 at the crossroad of tradition and modernity, while driving customer engagement on social media.
For its opening in Chengdu, the giant chinese mall 528 was looking for an enchanting experience which would position it at the crossroad of tradition and modernity, while driving customer engagement on social media.
Inspired by the ancient art of “Bian Lian”, a theater genre in which actors change masks with a quick hand gesture, we proposed to create a large scale sculpture, on which artists’ treatments of faces would be projected and swapped according to the visitor’ choices.
The visitor’s face would then be scanned and integrated in the artist’s work.
In order to drive engagement on social networks, visitors would be given a personal card to activate the tangible experience and retrieve pictures of their faces via their personal online gallery on 528’s app.
